Work Chic - Peplum & Prints

Happy Thursday,

This post have been long over due ( or should I say this top) because I always intend to blog about it, but can't seem to ever get to it.  I found this printed peplum in Ross during the summer and I absolutely love it.  The colors are so fun and of course peplum is always flirty & girly! To make this look work appropriate, I paired it with a blazer and minimum accessories.  Fun prints can be worn in the workplace as long as you know how to tone it down, at least in my opinion...:).  Hope you enjoy!!!

Work Chic-Black and White

Greetings All,

I hope everyone is doing well.  I recently pinned a look of Reese Witherspoon to one of my Pinterest boards the other day and was inspired to re-create her look.  Black and white is such a sophisticated and classy look in my opinion.  One can never go wrong with the combo.  This was my work look for today.  Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

Midi Monday

Happy Monday,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I mostly rested and did a few house chores from time to time.  For the past two months, there has always been something to do every single weekend....a shower, a birthday party, football game, or just a weekend trip out of town and it just felt really good to sit at home and relax.  Anyway enough rambling about that and on to the outfit.  I am a little late with the Midi skirts.  I always thought that they were super cute but because I am a little short, I didn't think they would flatter me much.  Sooooo....I went ahead and gave it a try and I was quite impressed.  I found this cute one here on clearance for $25 bucks (score...right?!?) back in July at Asos.  I fell in love with it instantly because of the color and the cute bow detail in the front.

Now don't judge me, but this denim shirt has been making its rounds this entire summer honey.  It is so functional and just goes with everything.  I have literally worn it out, but until I start to see extreme fading and tears, it will continue to be in rotation well into the Fall and Winter.....lol.
*Side note...Please excuse the picture quality.  It was beginning to rain and I just couldn't seem to get it right at all.....blogger issues...sigh!

Lastly, about a month ago, me and a couple of my girlfriends attended Steve Harvey's Neighborhood Awards Expo in Atlanta.  The expo consisted of many different vendors from food, hair, cosmetics and the list goes on.  Anyway, I came across a vendor who were selling these amazing lipsticks from a company called Wink n Pout Cosmetics by Kym Lee. You know that I am a sucker for lipsticks so I had to grab up one.  It has a cream to matte formula which means it glides on very softly and then sets to a matte finish.  I prefer a matte finish but there are some matte lipsticks that's extremely too drying but these are perfect and the color is very intense.  The link will be below if you would like to check it out!

Color Trends for Fall/Winter 2014

Greetings my Chic Beauties,

I am super excited that the fall season is rapidly approaching.  It is my most favorite season.  I am so over the hot sluggish days of summer.  I think southern heat is on a whole different level than any other parts of the United States...Am I right my fellow Southern Belles?!?  Anywho, as I was browsing though the internet for this year's fall fashion,  I ran across Fashion Snoop's Fall/Winter 2014 runway colors. I am loving all of these, especially the jewel and bright tones. I am definitely incorporating these colors into my wardrobe whether its lipsticks, eye shadows, nail polishes, etc. Check out Fashion Snoop for more! Which tones are you crushing?

Let's Mesh around!

Unless I have been sleeping under a rock, I never quite knew that mesh was one of the trends this spring/summer  until I was thumbing through the pages of the August edition of Instyle Magazine a week ago.  Prior to reading the magazine, I saw this top in TJ Maxx and thought that it was cute and vibrate, but wasn't completely sold on it until I saw the clearance price of $7.00.  At that point, it was SOLD...lol.  At the time of the purchase, I wasn't sure  as to how I would style it or what I would wear it with, so it hung in my closet for a while.  After looking at a few different options in the magazine, I thought that I would go for a semi-casual look by pairing it with jeans and a bold piece necklace.  What do you think of the mesh trend?  How would you have styled this top?  Please comment.  I really would love your feedback.

What I wore: Night out in LA

Happy Tuesday Loves,

Last weekend, hubby and I was invited to help celebrate with friends for their 10 year wedding anniversary in LA. I was so excited because it was my first time visiting LA.  It was absolutely AMAZING!  We had so much fun just relaxing, eating, shopping, more eating and did I mention EATING....LOL.

Our first night there, we had dinner at the famous Crustaceans Restaurant.  It is one of the hottest restaurants in Beverly Hills that serves the most delicious Asian Cuisine.  It is mostly famous for their garlic noodles which are so good!  If you ever visit, you must try the garlic noodles if nothing else.  I wanted to wear something chic, yet simple and comfy so I decided to shop around for a nice jumpsuit/romper. I remember a couple of friends and I had a movie night and one of them had on this particular jumpsuit from Express.  When I visited the store, I was looking for it in black but they were all out of my size.  Therefore, I just settled for the same olive green one here.  Hope you guys are inspired...Smooches!!

I kept my make up look quite simple as well, with a soft brown and green smokey eye and a pop of color on the lips.  At first I planned to wear an orange lip, but I just could not resist the urge to wear the infamous Flat Out Fabulous. I love it!!!

We had several different appetizers, however this was my entre for the night-garlic noodles and chicken meatballs as well as this delicious cheese cake.
